Structured Cabling & Networking

The backbone every other system depends on

The physical cabling infrastructure (Cat6/6A, or fibre where needed) and active equipment (switches, wireless access points) that every other smart and ELV system relies on.

Without a properly designed network, the reliability of everything built on top of it suffers — cameras, access control, AV, all of it.

Where It Sits in the Build Programme

The first thing executed within first fix, ahead of any other ELV system — cabling is run to every data point, camera, access point, and AV location before walls and ceilings close, and the network is commissioned before the systems that depend on it are installed.

How We Deliver Every Service

Regardless of system type, we follow the same engineering methodology from the first site visit through handover.

  • Site survey & requirements assessment
  • Engineering design & Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
  • Supply & installation
  • Testing & commissioning
  • Handover & user training
  • Ongoing maintenance, optional under an AMC

Standards & Technologies

TIA/EIA-568 Structured cabling standard
Cat6 / Cat6A Copper cabling selected by bandwidth requirements
PoE (802.3af/at/bt) Powering devices over the network cable itself

Typical Scope by Project Size

Residential Villa

A wired network across the home linking key rooms, plus wireless access points for full coverage.

Commercial / Multi-Floor Project

Structured cabling per floor terminating in a central comms room, with redundant uplinks and enterprise-grade wireless coverage planning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need wired points if my WiFi is already good?

WiFi reliability depends on the wired network behind it — cameras, access points, and AV gear are wired for stability; WiFi covers mobile devices only.

What's the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?

Cat6A supports higher bandwidth (10Gb) over longer runs, a sensible choice for future-proofing larger buildings.

Who maintains the network after handover?

We hand over the actual as-built cabling schedule, and the annual maintenance contract covers ongoing network support.
